@Thrognor: We may end up doing something like this. Stay tuned for updates (although I can't promise anything soon).

So if the graphics part is what takes the longest to get going again, how about a text-only filler to wrap-up the cliff hanger and put the strip in a good place to relaunch from.

Well, this blows. Regardless, take the time you need, but don't forget about us, your loving fans, the likes of whom do NOT wish to be thrown out on a streetcorner in the rain like a used up hooker (obviously a metaphor for this realm of comiclessness, not a personal experience). :D

Good luck on your spiritual journeys! Bring us back some nicknacks!

I've done periodic fill-in posts on a blog before, and I know how really, really, really hard it is to keep up a regular schedule like that, even if it's something you like. I suck at it.

With that said, I gotta say this pretty much stinks! Leave us with a major cliff-hanger, then abandon us. Nice. Very nice. :)

With that being said about that being said, this was probably one of the first comics I actually subscribed to the RSS feed of. So, if you would, please try and make the break short and return to us happy and healthy. Thanks!

Best of luck, guys. Hope you can start updating again soon. ...Sigh.
Would it encourage you if I point out that this has been one of my favorite webcomics?

"Life is like a grapefruit. Well, it's sort of orangy-yellow and dimpled on the outside, wet and squidgy in the middle. It's got pips inside, too. Oh, and some people have a half a one for breakfast."

bye! so long and thanks for all the time-fish.

Look, we all know what sort of currency the phrase "be back soon" carries on the internet. It is not very much. In fact, for every defunct site I've ever come across, the author's final update was something along the lines of, "I've been super busy lately, but I promise I'll start posting again soon." Promises are like excuses, which are in turn like noses---everyone's got one, and they have two nostrils through which you breathe and smell things.

So I won't promise we'll be back, and I certainly won't promise it will be soon.

That said, I can put forth a few things that are certain. For example, I can say for sure that John and I both have lots on our respective plates. He already spoke for himself above; as for myself, I recently moved halfway across the country to a new city so I could start my first real full-time job. It's a big change for me, and the comic has not been top on my list of priorities for the past few weeks.

Another thing I am sure of: if Chronillogical returns (and I truly hope it does), the strip will probably be substantially different. Here's what I mean: the possibilities afforded by time travel are too good to pass up, and yet in over 100 comics we've gone through time once. To put a finer point on it, the strip's pace is glacial. John and I have had tons of ideas (or at least a few) (one or two, definitely) but have hardly gotten to any of them. The hiatus, I hope, will give us the opportunity to step back and and reconsider exactly what we want to do with the strip.

Another thing I am certain of is that I certainly intend to return to the strip. I really, really hate to leave a story hanging, and I would love to learn more about the characters we've created. However, the barrier to return is much lower for me than it is for John (I just throw words on the page---he does all the actual work) so it will eventually be for him to decide.

So, that's where things stand. Like John said, subscribe yourself to our RSS feed so you can be on top of any future updates.

Future updates.

Get it? Future?

Because it's a strip about time travel?

Oh man, I'm so freaking funny.
