You may have noticed that there is no comic up yet. Here’s the deal: John just gave me a ring to tell me that his internet is down. The comic is done, but he has no way of posting it. Oh, the irony! The horrible, horrible irony.
Worst comes to worst, he’ll have to wait till he can get to his school’s computer lab tomorrow morning to post it. Which means that, barring some kind of considerable crisis/destructive act of God/alien invasion, the comic will surely go up today—just a little later than expected. Sorry, folks!
I didn’t notice, because I check webcomics in the evening.

So do I! But you know how some people are, with their checking things as soon as they come out. Or as the first thing they do when they get to work
As a general rule, we try to get comics out before morning rolls around. I’d say anything much later than that is a little on the late side and should probably be acknowledged.

Imagine how much extra productivity the lateness of your comic contributed to, then, while all of those people checking your webcomic at work devoted the time they would have used to read the words and look at the pictures to whatever it is people do at jobs.
