   no crit­i­cism intended, but acci­den­tally sup­plied, but shouldn’t that be:
   “…but two thirds of the bucket was empty.”
   Spec­tac­u­lar comic, I am in envy of you abil­ity to draw whimsically…
   …all my draw­ings I sub­con­sciously make too life­like to this (one of my favourite) style of car­toon.

   To my ear, I actu­ally think “two thirds were” sounds better here. But I can also see “two thirds was” work­ing. The phrase “two thirds were” is more common on Google, but not by a ton, so I sus­pect this is one of those cases where there really isn’t a hard-and-fast rule.
